The European Federation of Journalists (EFJ) said N1 employees are receiving new threats and that over 13 attacks against journalists have been recorded since January.

“This must stop now! The perpetrators must be brought to justice,” the EFJ said in a post on the X social media platform.

The Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (NUNS) will report the latest threats against N1 TV journalists to the High-Tech Crime Department of the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office, said this Association on Thursday.

N1 TV journalists have received new threats via X. In a comment on a Voice of America Wednesday post saying that international organizations warn of an open season on journalists and that physical assaults are possible, a user named Glisha_m wrote: “The hunting season is open, we just need to find a sponsor to burn down N1. It has begun, resign now, maybe there’s a future for you.”

N1 Program Director Igor Bozic told NUNS it is clear that the threats are related to the video that was broadcast a few days ago on television stations with national coverage and on the portals of pro-government tabloids.
