A reporter was assaulted by a man on the central square in front of the Serbian parliament on Tuesday.
The man came out of one of the row of white plastic tents put up overnight, blocking the road between parliament and the Serbian Presidency. The Istinomer portal female reporter was making a video of the tents when the man came up to her with his face covered, verbally assaulting and pushing her.
Istinomer said that she walked up to a policeman and told him what happened and was told: Be careful, they treat us the same way.
The tents seem to be an expansion of the tent camp put up in the park in front of the presidency building by regime supporters. That area of central Belgrade was blocked off over the weekend for a 3-day gathering organized by President Aleksandar Vucic. The whole area has been fenced off. There is speculation that the tents are there for regime supporters who will show their support for the new government once parliament confirms it.
The men standing around the tents cheered incoming Education Minister Dejan Vuk Stankovic calling him to end the student blockades in 5 days. He responded: this will be over in 15 days.
