European Union (EU) Ambassador to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret welcomed the launch of a new call for the members of Serbia’s Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM) Council.
“We look forward to witnessing transparent and inclusive process that will result in credible, strong and independent regulator for the benefit of a pluralistic electronic media environment,” Giaufret wrote in a post on the X social media platform.
An advertisement in the pro-regime Politika daily set a 15 day deadline for nominations to the Council of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM). The advertisement was also published in the Official Gazette and the Serbian Parliament web site. The committee revoked an earlier invitation for nominations.
