Kraljevo Mayor Predrag Terzic sent offensive messages to N1 in response to a request for information about an environmental incident in the Raska river.
An N1 reporter was gathering information about the destruction of animal and plant life in the river in the Novi Pazar area, contacting local administrations in that part of Serbia.
Terzic, known as the ruling party official who posted a hand with middle finger raised on social media to counter the Bloody Hand symbol used by protesters, sent two letters on Kraljevo city stationary calling N1 journalists “ignorant and unedcuated” and adding that “only the universe and human stupidity are indestructible”.
The reporter replied in writing, listing the reasons for the request for information and adding that the mayor’s reply will be published. The mayor came back with another message saying the reporter can’t tell the difference between local and district administration. “After showing ignorance in all fields and aspiring to be some kind of journalists, and I think you don’t have the knowledge even to be part of the media outlet you represent, continuing this exchange would be meaningless,” Terzic wrote.
Both letters ended with Long Live Serbia, Long Live President Aleksandar Vucic.
