An N1 crew was harassed by Serbian ruling party activists in the northern city of Vrbas on Sunday night.

The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) activists tried to get through a cordon of Gendarmerie troopers separating them from protesters and the N1 crew. Failing that they used at least 5 laser pointers to try to prevent them from reporting on the protest in that Vojvodina city.

The SNS activists also hurled abuse at the N1 crew, including calling the Ustashe (WW 2 Croatian fascist troops who persecuted Serbs, Jews and Gypsies). That term is frequently used by state officials and SNS activists and supporters as a demeaning term for anti-government protesters.

Verbal clashes erupted between SNS activists and protesters in front of the local SNS offices but the Gendarmerie prevented any contact apart from eggs and water bottles thrown by both groups.

Sine of the SNS activists wore black caps to hide their faces.
