N1 TV was denied access to a news conference by Internal Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic on Thursday.
An N1 reporter sent in her own and the names of the rest of her crew and received confirmation of the time and venue for the news conference. She was contacted by phone less than an hour later and was told that she can’t attend the news conference. “The minister’s cabinet decided that this was not going to be a news conference but a news briefing for select media. You will be invited when a news conference is organized,” N1 was told by the ministry media service.
Minister Dacic said on Wednesday night that he would hold a news conference at the ministry at 11 am. He did not say that it would be a briefing for select media.
