Vreme weekly said that judiciary staff can’t access to independent media portals following an alleged hack attack several months ago.
It said that computers in the judiciary network could access the pro-regime Vecernje Novosti daily’s portal but not the portals of N1 and Vreme as well as some state institutions following the hack attack in July. The Justice Ministry issued a statement saying that the judiciary computer network was being repaired but Appeals Court Judge Miodrag Majic (known for his criticism of the authorities) said in an X post that the problem is probably not just technical. Majic said that the Justice Ministry ordered limited access to the Internet for what it said were security reasons, allowing access only to state institutions and pro-regime tabkloids – Informer, Republika and Alo.
Vreme cited sources in one of the Belgrade courts who confirmed that they could access the Vecernje Novosti portal but not Vreme or N1 but could not say why.
