The Court of Appeal in Amsterdam rejected the request of the companies Gerrard MIP Ltd and Gerrard Enterprise LLC, related to Dragan Šolak, judging that they are not shareholders of United Group and therefore have no legal basis to sue the majority owner BC Partners
The Commercial Department of the Court of Appeal considers that the Gerrard companies are not shareholders United Groups, but indirect investors and that therefore they do not have the legal legitimacy to initiate proceedings.
Gerrard MIP Limited and Gerrard Enterprises LLC launched proceedings before the Commercial Division of the Court of Appeal in Amsterdam in July 2025 after BC Partners, the majority owner of United Group, suddenly removed the founder Dragan Šolak and Executive Director Victoria Bocklag.
Gerrard companies claim that BC Partners caused a severe management crisis with that change, abused majority control and thereby threatened the interests of the company, minority shareholders and media freedom within United Media Group, which BC Partners denies.
The court in Amsterdam did not deal with the substance of the claim, but only with the question of jurisdiction.
