The European Democratic Party warned Minister Bratina that Serbia can’t have a European future without free media.
The warning came after Serbian Information Minister Boris Bratina attacked N1, Nova S and Radio Free Europe saying they should not be broadcasting in the country.
“As European Democrats, we say it loud and clear: no free press, no European future. This is not reform — it’s repression. No press freedom, no accession. Speak up — before silence becomes policy,” the party said in an X post.
“Serbia’s Minister of Information, Boris Bratina, says N1, Nova and Radio Free Europe “should not exist in our airwaves.” Seriously? Has anyone in Vučić’s government read the European Commission’s report on Serbia? You can’t claim EU candidacy while attacking media freedom head-on,” it said.
