In the conclusion of the REM service, it is stated that there was no abuse of minors for political purposes in the show that was broadcast on September 27
In the show “Important things“there was no abuse of minors for political purposes, and the nature of that program content and their participation was adapted to the age, maturity and reason for participation, and in accordance with the Law on Electronic Media, concluded the opinion of the Service for Monitoring and Analysis of Programs Regulatory body for electronic media (REM) after application of the president of the RTS Board of Directors.
In the conclusion of the REM service, which was adopted on October 25, but only recently published on the website, it is stated that there is no reason to initiate an investigation against RTS because of this show that was broadcast on September 27 of this year.
The reason for the application was the statement of a boy who said that he did not go to school because of blockades and protests, explaining that “students are fighting for justice and for our future.”
The child was not abused.
As stated in the conclusion of the REM service, the concept of the show “Important things” is based on honest, direct and interesting confessions of children about the reality that surrounds them, their own perceptions of relationships among friends, in the family, fantasies, love for animals, but also more difficult topics such as relationships between parents or children with special needs.
“Among the more serious topics are events at school such as the interruption of classes, the cause of those interruptions, and in general the reality that surrounds and affects children. Thus, a statement about the reasons for the interruption of classes seen through the eyes of boys cannot be an abuse of a child’s participation for political purposes, nor an abuse of his statement,” he writes in the conclusion.
As it was added, the presenter did not ask suggestive questions in the context of abuse, but only in terms of explaining the interruption of classes.
Abuse of children for political purposes is their participation in activities that are not for the benefit of children, but in the interest of individuals or parties, the conclusion states.
