Belgrade University students called a protest in front of the RTS headquarters over the state TV’s reporting from local elections in 3 municipalities on Sunday.

The gathering stopped traffic in the street next to parliament. A video screen was put up to show coverage of the local elections in Negotin, Mionica and Secanj which President Aleksandar Vucic’s Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) claimed to have won convincingly.

A protesters from a Belgrade local community assembly said that the main reason for the protest was the unprofessional reporting by the public broadcaster. “We pay them to provide us with information and they be reporting on time but they are not objective and truthful,” he said, adding that the RTS failed to report the irregularities and clashes at the elections.
