N1 was told by prosecutors that the police are still searching for the man who assaulted the station’s crew at the regime-supporter tent camp in central Belgrade.

A man dressed in black with a cap approached the N1 reporter and cameraman, told them to stop recording and then grabbed the camera and threw it onto the pavement, breaking it. The man walked away and the police deployed at the tent camp did nothing to stop him, telling the reporter that she had to call in the assault. The man was later identified as a convicted killer.

N1 was told by prosecutor that the man has not been arrested 20 days after the incident.

The Basic Public Prosecution in Belgrade ordered the police to identify the attacks and collect all relevant recordings and evidence.

Reporter Maja Nikolic and cameraman Ivan Pavlovic gave statements, saying that the man threatened them before throwing the camera to the ground.

Journalists’ organizations condemned the incident and called the authorities to arrest the attacker and hold the police officers present accountable for not preventing the attack.
