Serbia’s top policeman told N1 that he absolutely condemns the assault on the station’s TV crew at the regime-supporter tent camp in central Belgrade.
Director of Police Dragan Vasiljevic said that he isn’t sure that journalists are banned from the Caciland tent camp between parliament and the Serbian presidency building adding that the area is “not a restricted zone which is entered under strictly controlled conditions”.
He called for patience. “That patience does not mean the police is not doing its job but you should understand that we don’t do anything instantly. I absolutely condemn the assault on N1 journalists,” he said and added that the police identified the attacker and that a warrant for his arrest was issued. “He will be brought to justice in a realistic time as soon as he become available to the police,” he said.
