N1 reporter Zaklina Tatalovic was told by sound engineers at the Serbian Parliament that they were ordered to mute her microphone when she asked Speaker Ana Brnabic for comments.

Brnabic, a senior ruling SNS party official and close associate of President Vucic, held a news conference on Friday, talking about the resignation of 4 members of the REM electronic media watchdog. Tatalovic asked her first question before the microphone was muted and her follow-up questions with a muted microphone.

Tatalovic asked a parliament technical staff member later about the muted microphone and the man said that he was ordered to do it but claimed not to know who gave the order. She followed the man to the technical department offices where department chief Miladin Deanovic confronted her and was told about the order to mute the microphone. Deanovic confirmed the order, saying that they were just sound engineers.
