Support for the staff at N1 is coming in from various quarters. Actors and producers from several theaters released a video message expressing their solidarity with the news outlet.
“I won’t give up the truth because I have the right to hear it. Because my children have a right to it. I won’t give up the truth because I have the right to know. Because I have the right to see. Because I have the right to speak. I won’t give up the truth because without it, there is no freedom. I won’t give up the truth because the truth wins. I won’t give up the truth because when it disappears, we disappear too. N1,” the actors stated in their message.
On Tuesday, citizens and journalists assembled outside the N1 TV headquarters in Belgrade to show solidarity with the newsroom following the removal of the station’s longtime director, Igor Bozic.
Last Friday, the new management notified Bozic of his removal as director. He was informed that he is currently unassigned and will no longer lead the newsroom pending a decision by the Adria News Network (ANN) Board regarding his status.
