With the arrival of Manja Grcic at the head of the Public Service, the structure of the RTS program was changed
There is a joke that the new director, as soon as he comes to the company, replaces the furniture.
That’s right Manja Grcic, new director Public service, immediately canceled three shows of the Entertainment program, did not renew the contracts of allegedly dozens of long-term part-time associates, Vladimir Kecmanović voluntarily refused to be the head of the Cultural and Artistic program, but also, and it could be called a general preparation, overturned the structure of the program.
For the last ten years, the RTS program structure was as follows: Informative program, Entertainment program, Scientific and educational program, Cultural and artistic program.
Scientific and educational program
Now a different division has been made within the program: the Sports newsroom, which until now was in the Entertainment program, became part of the Information program, and the Cultural-artistic program and the Scientific-educational program were merged.
The chief and responsible editor of that new program, which will probably be called Cultural and Educational, will be Miloš Janković, the previous editor of the Scientific and Educational Program. Now he will be in the status of acting until a new competition is announced, as is required by law, because it is a new program unit.
Before the merger, the Cultural and Artistic Program had five newsrooms: Feature and domestic serial program newsroom, Documentary newsroom, Art and culture program newsroom, Children’s program newsroom and Drama department.
The editorial office of the documentary program and the editorial office for culture and art remained the same, only now they are formally located within the new program unit, the aforementioned Cultural and Educational Program.
Program status
The editorial staff of the feature and domestic serial program received the status of a program, whose editor-in-chief will be the former editor-in-chief Marko Novaković. The editorial staff of the feature and domestic serial program had a total of: editor-in-chief, one editor who retired but his work contract was extended for three months, and the editor’s secretary. And now it becomes a separate program entity.
For the sake of comparison, the Cultural and Artistic Program had 46 employees. It was said that the Drama Department will be attached to that new program, so that it will have four employed editors (chief editor, three playwrights) and a secretary.
Children’s program
The editorial office of the children’s program is no longer independent, it has been merged with the editorial office of the school program, which was part of the Scientific and Educational Department. The responsible editor will remain Nevena Mladenović, who until now was the head of the editorial office of the school program.
Azdejković and Klanšček
Judging by the post on the social network of Predrag Azdejković, a member of the RTS Board of Directors, that body is happy with the mentioned changes, and especially with some of them.
“The board of directors of RTS adopted the decision to cancel the editorial office of the Children’s program, thus Jelena Popadić Sumić, the author of the politicized show Important things, is no longer the editor of the Children’s Program. There’s nothing wrong with the second time!”, wrote Azdejković.
The President of the RTS Board of Directors, Branislav Klanšček, however, claims that this is not true. The claims that were published on the Instagram profile “Our protest” that “The editorial staff of the children’s program on RTS as such no longer exists” are not true, Klanšček said, but he did not distance himself from the claims made by Azdejković.
In any case, until April 30, everyone is in their current positions, and after that they will receive the contract annexes. Then everything will be clear.
