Although the sale of United Group’s media outlets has yet to be formally finalized and key regulatory approvals remain pending, the Portuguese investment fund Alpac Capital plans to assume control of their management within the next few days, Cenzolovka learned. According to its sources, this move will involve personnel changes across newsrooms, including the dismissal of editors.

Reliable sources told Cenzolovka that Alpac Capital’s management intends to take over the group’s media operations – including N1 and Nova S – in the coming days.

Cenzolovka has unofficially learned that Pedro Vargas of Alpac Capital and the management of United Group have reached an agreement to hand over de facto control to Vargas as soon as the purchase funds are deposited into an escrow account. This transaction is reportedly expected to take place by Friday or by the end of the week.

Should this move proceed, sources suggest it will result in the removal of Brent Sadler as Chief News Executive of Adria News Network, as well as the potential replacement of those in editorial positions, the report adds.

The sale has not yet been formally concluded because it is still awaiting necessary approvals from various regulatory bodies, including those in Luxembourg. Nevertheless, Cenzolovka notes that if these plans for a premature takeover are realized, the incoming owner will be in a position to steer the direction of these outlets effective immediately.
