Competition commission: Sale of ANN media outlets approved

Serbia’s Commission for Protection of Competition confirmed to the “Nezavisnost” Union – representing the Nova portal and newspaper and the weekly magazine Radar – that it has approved the sale of United Group’s media assets, specifically the outlets within Adria News Network (ANN).

In its response to the union, the Commission stated that “the concentration involving European Future Media Investments S.C.S. (a subsidiary of Alpac Capital) and Adria News S.à r.l. was notified” to the Commission on 8 June 2026.

“Following the review process, the notified concentration was approved,” the Commission stated, according to a union press release reported by Nova.rs.

The Adria News portfolio includes the Nova portal and newspaper, the weekly Radar, Nova TV, N1 TV, and the daily Danas.

Pedro Vargas Santos David, the owner of Alpac Capital, announced two days ago that the company has also received all necessary regulatory clearances from the relevant authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
