After the dismissal of the old director of the N1 television and the appointment of a new director, the journalists’ associations are calling for a new gathering of support for the employees of that newsroom
Journalistic associations and organizations invited colleagues and all other citizens to gather in front of the television newsroom on Tuesday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m. N1 in New Belgrade and together show solidarity with the journalists of this media.
“In the days behind us, the employees of N1 warned of moves that call into question the future of the editorial independence of this media. That is why it is important to provide them with clear and visible support and show that they are not alone in this fight. To defend professional and independent journalism. To warn the domestic and international public about the seriousness of the situation in Serbia,” the invitation reads.
The invitation is listed by the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM), the Association of Online Media (AOM), the Independent Journalists of Vojvodina (NDNV), the Independent Association of Journalists of Serbia (NUNS), the Business Association of the Association of Local and Independent Media “Local Press”, the Slavko Ćuruvija Foundation and the Branch Union of Culture, Arts and Media “Nezavisnost”.

As announced, prosecutor Bojana Savović, actress Seka Sablić and N1 summer school student Nađa Šolaja will speak at the meeting.
A letter from the celebrated football player Nemanja Vidić will also be read.
