BBC Serbian journalist Dusan Masic dies

BBC Serbian journalist Dusan Masic died in Belgrade on Monday, the media reported.

Masic, 55, started out in the independent Radio B92 in the late 1980s and went on to report on the wars in the former Yugoslavia, graduating to editor of the station’s news desk.

 

He went on to work for the Voice of America and contributed to the independent press in Serbia. The FoNet news agency said that he was one of the top radio experts in the region. Masic was also the first CEO of the Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM).

 

Masic was one of the founders of the BBC Serbian desk in Belgrade.
