Beta news agency editor in chief Vojkan Kostic told N1 on Tuesday that he was detained a day earlier because military analyst Aleksandar Radic handed him his phone.

According to Kostic, he accompanied Radic to his home to witness the police search and was handed the phone before they entered the apartment. “I told the police that I was with Radic and offered to come with him after he got a call from the police…. He handed me the phone in the elevator saying media would be calling and he wouldn’t be able to talk. He told me to wait for him.

Kostic said the police did not tell him he would be arrested for having Radic’s phone. According to him, the behavior of the police was intended to intimidate or provide a media cover over other cases. He said he was handed a summons to report immediately to provide information in the investigation into the preparation of acts against constitutional order and the security of Serbia.

He said he handed Radic’s phone to the police when ordered to do so and that the summons came hours later.
