Information Minister Boris Bratina told reporters on Thursday that N1 and Nova S TV stations have to be forced into become what he called Serbian stations, paying taxes in the country they operate in.

N1 and Nova S are part of United Group which is registered in Luxembourg.

Bratina said that is his only demand for those media outlets. “What I want for the people in N1 and Nova S is for them to enter our legal system. I don’t care about their program, let them produce it but it has to be under our laws,” he said.

He said the ministry will look into social networks and digital platforms more intensively and added that the media situation will improve following elections in December.

Bratina said that no TV station in the country follows the rules of journalism fully and added that the media lack objectivity, timely reporting and truthfulness.
