The long-standing partnership between N1 and CNN has come to an end following the expiration of their cooperation agreement on August 31, 2026.
Brent Sadler, Executive Director of News at Adria News Network (ANN), confirmed that the agreement had expired and said the company had decided not to renew it.
Sadler said that ANN confirmed that N1’s partnership agreement with CNN ended when the contract expired on August 31, 2026, following its decision not to extend the arrangement. He thanked CNN for what he described as a valuable partnership and for its contribution to N1 over the years.
He said that N1 would continue operating as an independent regional news organization. N1 will continue to operate as an independent regional news media organization, maintaining its editorial standards and commitment to audiences across Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia, he said.
The end of the agreement does not mean that N1 is ceasing operations or changing its basic editorial position but it does mark the end of a long-running partnership with CNN.
N1 has operated across the former Yugoslavia market as a regional news channel, with operations in Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and has built its identity on independent news coverage and its own editorial standards.
The CNN partnership provided N1 an association with one of the world’s best-known international news organizations, while N1 developed its own regional reporting operation and editorial identity.
