Brent Sadler, Brent Sadler, Chief News Executive of ANN, has been registered with the Serbian Business Registers Agency (APR) as a legal representative of the company United Media Digital (UMDG), which is the publisher of the portal Nova.rs, the newspaper Nova and the weekly Radar.
With this decision, Sadler now represents the company with a co-signature with Mihail Jovicevic, UMDG CEO. This decision does not affect the editorial segment of the media Nova.rs, the newspaper Nova and the weekly Radar, Nova.
The changes in the management structure of the companies and editorial offices that make up ANN have also occurred at N1 TV and the daily Danas.
Sadler and Wouter van Houwelingen, senior corporate representative of Adria News Network, have been registered as legal representatives of TV N1, replacing the previous structure with one signatory, i.e. Igor Bozic, who was the only one representing the company in the APR until now, has been dismissed.
“The introduction of a unified governance framework across ANN includes administrative changes of this kind. These changes relate strictly to corporate governance, legal representation and financial oversight. They do not affect editorial structures, decision-making, workflows or reporting lines,” said Sadler.
On the other hand, the N1 and Forbes Serbia union expressed concern.
The union demanded a meeting with management as soon as possible to request guarantees in writing that there is no plan to reduce the number of employees or jeopardize existing editorial independence. “We would like to remind our employer of the obligation to consult unions before thanking any decision about the employment status of staff or the organization of the company,” it added.
The union said it would follow every next step and react to every decision that could endanger the rights of employees, the editorial independence and professional standards that this news desk has been built on for years.
