Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic blamed Monday’s assault on a Belgrade Law School professor on “Media like N1”.
Brnabic was asked by a reporter about the assault and said that the authorities did not create the narrative that led to it, accusing the “blockaders” (a derogatory name for the protesting students used by state officials). She said she’s not surprised that blockaders assaulted teachers and anyone else who dared say something different.
She accused the blockaders of blacklisting and showing that fascist and Nazi ideology in its original form was acceptable. She also accused the protesting students of what she claimed was the attempted murder of a Novi Sad college dean.
She turned to an N1 reporter and said: “I don’t know if you’re joiking or if you’re at all ashamed to be spinning the truth or if you think no one in the country sees you”.
