Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic lashed out at the Nova daily newspaper over a headline saying that President Aleksandar Vucic laid the blame for the armed incident at the Banjska monastery on the Kosovo Serbs.
Brnabic published a video statement on her Instagram profile calling Nova daily a tycoon media (a negative-context term used by the authorities for independent media) saying that she found the fact that “there is no tragedy that can unite us” especially difficult, adding that everyone in the country heard Vucic say that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and his policies are to blame for the armed incident.
She recalled that Vucic said at the UN General Assembly and again at Sunday’s news conference that Serbia would never recognize “the so-called Republic of Kosovo”. “We will fight against that lie, we will fight for our country and we will always fight for our people,” Brnabic said.
She also said that they discussed measures and what can be done for the Kosovo Serbs but did not specify any of those measures.
