Condemned Loyalists: The killer behind the microphone on Informer, the rapist at the gates of Ćaciland

The holidays gave birth to two new faces with thick ties to the Serbian Progressive Party and even thicker files. One of them sang “na uvce” on Informer, and the other insulted journalists near Pionirski Park

The news that they can be seen in the close environment of public officials faces with dubious biographies and thick files are no longer news. But the new thing is that two days ago they started singing to them “on the ovce”. And that publicly, on television with a city frequency with a not so negligible viewership.

Od Christmas tables in the Informer studio until today, two new people have surfaced who are in some form connected with the Serbian Progressive Party, and whose judgments can be measured in decades.

Convicted murderer sang to top officials on TV

On Christmas Day, Informer TV broadcast show in which the highest state officials were guests, from President Aleksandar Vučić and former Prime Minister Ana Brnabić, through government ministers Ivica Dačić and Darko Glišić, to some of the loudest members of the SNS in parliament.

At this “party”, the main musical attraction was a certain Dragan Ašanin, an accordionist and singer who, according to information published by Nemanja Šarović, is a convicted murderer.

Ashanin, as Novosti wrote, killed an eighteen-year-old girl in October 1992 by firing three shots from a pistol, for which he was arrested and sentenced to 12 years in prison.

After prison, he continued his music career, released several songs and was a frequent guest on music shows on television, including Happy TV.

Over 10 years of imprisonment, then to Ćaciland

During the holidays, Miroslav Suvalj also received his five minutes of fame. On the second day of Christmas, at the entrance to the Pionirski Park, Suvalj waited for the N1 team, blocked their passage and then accused them of being “scum that is destroying Serbia”.

From the answer that television later received from the High Court in Sombor, we learned that the guard of Pioneer Park was sentenced to a total of 10 years and eight months in prison for various crimes.

First, in January 2014, he was legally sentenced to two years and two months in prison for robbery, and then in May of the same year, also legally, to a single prison sentence of eight years and six months for kidnapping, rape and extortion.

Why them?

It is known that in the so-called Ćaciland, persons with a criminal past (but also present) have been gathering for months, as evidenced by the information KRIK publishes in its register “Ćaci(s), party guards”.

There is no confirmed information as to why convicted criminals are hired for such jobs, but it is suspected that it is blackmail or promises by the authorities that the perpetrators of illegal acts will be exempted from prosecution if they show loyalty and stand up for their cause. It has happened in the past few days that a few phone conversations that hint at this have reached the public.

However, the decision to invite a semi-anonymous convicted murderer out of so many pro-government singers for Informer’s VIP political party also sends the message that criminals are welcome and even desired in such an organized system.
