CRTA to sue pro-regime media over false reporting

CRTA democracy watchdog Program Director Rasa Nedeljkov said that organization would be suing a major pro-regime TV station for falsely reporting CRTA’s statements.

 

Nedeljkov said that the pro-regime TV Pink falsely reported what CRTA said about the recent local elections in Zajecar and Kosjeric which were fraught with tension and irregularities. Speaking live on the Impression of the Week (Utisak Nedelje) talk show on Sunday night, the, who head of the CRTA observer mission said that the organization would be suing other pro-regime media which he said “were caught lying about what we said”.

 

He said he was not surprised by anything that happened in those two cities during the local elections “because we have been faced with serious violations of election rules for years”.

 

Nedeljkov said that “para-observers who took over the election process appeared in violation of the law” adding that election fraud was committed in Zajecar while the elections in Kosjeric were “expressely undemocratic”.
