The Slavko Curuvija Foundation said on Monday that March saw the highest number of attacks on the media by public officials since its monitoring was launched.
It reported at least 186 cases of verbal assaults on critical journalists and media outlets by state and party officials.
The Foundation said that at least 20 public officials were engaged in the targeting of journalists and media outlets. It named ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) MPs Nebojsa Bakarec and Milenko Jovanov, President Aleksandar Vucic, Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic and SNS leader Milos Vucevic as the officials behind most of the assaults.
