Tomaz Jelocnik, one of the dismissed Board members of Adria News Luxembourg and former director of Adria News Belgrade, addressed an open letter to Brent Sadler, the newly appointed Chief News Executive of Adria News Network (ANN).

Adria News Network announced on Thursday its formal launch under Adria News S.à r.l., “bringing together 14 country-leading television, print and digital news brands in a dedicated governance framework designed to further protect editorial freedom,” which also includes N1.

Jelocnik’s letter is provided below in its original form and in full:

“Mr. Sadler, congratulaiton! After so many years you manage to come back to Adria News. What could be the aim, purpose and what is behind your presence again? I remember days you were appointed to fulfill the task -lounching the N1- and you failed. Instead of you the task was complited by me, Ralf, Aleksandra and other colleagues.

“Now you are appointed on position which is very demanding. Sincerely, do you feal capable, do you have enough knowledge, experience and energy for that or money talks? I am wondering how you manage to convince the shareholder to belive and trust you? Once in the past you have already softly speaking dissapointed- betrayed the shareholder of Adria News.

“From the past when I joined Adria News I remember only your fanncy office furnished by the plakets and gifts you gain in the past not any other achivments.

“Now you will run ANN and I am not very optimistic. I must recall the famous words: ‘I AM BACK!’ and ask my self Who is the enemy Independent, Transparent Journalisem? God Save our soles.”

Adria News Network introduces editorial protections for television, print and digital news outlets in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia, including N1, Nova S, Vijesti and Danas, consolidating established and trusted news brands, award-winning journalists and experienced editorial leadership, the press release published on its website added.
