The Cenzolovka portal said on Monday that the nominations for the country’s electronic media watchdog have been passed to parliament for a decision.
It said that the names of the candidates for the Council of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) were in parliamentary procedure.
An X post said that nominations were made by journalist organizations, the Gender Equality Commissioner, Public Information Commissioner and Ombudsman.
The candidates include several pro-regime journalists and analysts, the editor in chief of a magazine published by the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and former REM Council members. Nominations made by the Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (IJAS) were not passed.
