Serbia’s Equality Commissioner Milan Antonijević, condemned what he described as “offensive and inappropriate” comments by the pro-regime Informer TV about several female journalists working for local media outlets.
A written statement quoted Antonijevic as saying that editorial policies, TV programs and their content could be criticized, but without insulting journalists.
He added that women journalists in Serbia are too often subjected to discrimination and verbal abuse simply because they are women.
