A post appeared on the social media network X calling for a Tuesday rally in front of TV N1 from an imposter account named “N1 in Blockade.” No employee of our media organization was involved in creating or posting from this account. Following a report by N1, the fake account was taken down.

The post cited an alleged decision by an “N1 Plenum,” a body that does not exist.

Notably, the account’s following list included the editor-in-chief of the pro-regime tabloid Informer, Dragan J. Vucicevic, EXPO-related accounts… Furthermore, the name of N1’s legal representative, Brent Sadler, was misspelled in the post.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (NUNS) called on journalists and citizens to gather at 7 pm outside the N1 building to show solidarity with the newsroom. That call has no connection to the one published by the fake account on X.
