We invite the entire journalistic community to gather on Monday, 24 November, at 7:00 p.m. in front of the National Assembly of Serbia (corner of Vlajkovićeva Street and Nikola Pašić Square) and express our professional solidarity with the N1 crew attacked at that very spot, as well as with all journalists who have recently been targeted while reporting in the public interest.
Come with your cameras and phones, symbolically and literally, to do our job on the spot: to document, ask questions, and record the facts. Let us, with dignity and clarity, send a clear message: enough of intimidation, impunity, and the ignoring of institutions’ legal obligations.
We remind you that, according to NUNS data, since the beginning of the year we have recorded several hundred attacks, threats, and pressures on journalists.
This call also extends to all citizens, come and support colleagues who work every day under pressure, threats, and insults. Our solidarity is more important today than ever before.
