During the November 5 protests in Novi Sad, sparked by the tragic deaths of 14 people in the collapse of a concrete canopy at the city’s recently renovated main train station, a disturbing incident was captured on camera when N1 reporter Zaklina Tatalovic was attacked while reporting live from the scene.
Tatalovic shared a post on her X account revealing the name of the man who assaulted her, and she also addressed a question to Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic, asking whether the man had been arrested after the attack during her live broadcast.
“Who did you send me, Ana Brnabic? And has he been arrested?” Tatalovic asked in her post.
The incident occurred as Tatalovic was reporting in front of the Novi Sad City Hall during the protest. A young man suddenly appeared in front of her camera, showed her the middle finger, and shouted insults at her. “Get lost, get lost,” the man yelled, forcing the reporter to explain that it had become impossible for her to continue reporting from the location.

The Novi Sad protest was held in response to the tragic deaths of 14 people in the train station canopy collapse. Citizens marched to the City Hall, and students painted “bloody handprints” on the Magistrates’ Court building. The ruling Serbian Progressive Party’s (SNS) storefront was also vandalized, and the City Hall came under attack by masked individuals, who showed up at one point and began demolishing the building.
