Kovacevic received a threatening message after she posted photos on social networks of SNS official and former MP Aleksandar Peranovic, who is also the director of the Sabac Pension Fund and is at the head of the Sabac Hippodrome, with the comment “when your political party chooses your company.”
In the first photo, Peranovic is in the company of thugs on the Sabac bridge during the demonstrations in November last year, while in the second he is in the role of a political official.
After that, insulting and threatening messages were sent to Isidora on social networks from an anonymous profile.
“The threats are new and refer to talking about me in public until I end up in a madhouse. For a long time, I did not publish anything about politics and thugs, and the story about the arrest warrants “cooled down”. “And now that I have mentioned something like that, that message has arrived, full of insult, with the fact that I will end up in a madhouse,” Kovacevic said, adding that new threats had been reported to the police.
To remind, the editor-in-chief of Podrinski has been threatened before, among other things, “that she and her family need a bullet.” Also, in December last year, Sabac was pasted with arrest warrants looking for the journalist’s head. In no case did anyone respond.
IJAS condemns the latest threats against journalist Isidora Kovacevic. We remind that journalists who work in the local media are the most endangered and that they are an easy target for a potential physical attack.
We call on the prosecution and the police to solve all cases of threatening journalist Isidora Kovacevic as soon as possible.
