The independent nominees to Serbia’s electronic media watchdog have all withdrawn from the race, a news conference was told.
The nominees were set to become members of the Council of the Regulatory Body For Electronic Media (REM), a body that is supposed to be independent but has been linked to the ruling coalition.
Nominees for the REM Council Sasa Mirkovic, Dubravka Valic Nedeljkovic, Zeljko Hubac, Aleksandra Krstic, Rodoljub Sabic and Dusan Aleksic said they were withdrawing from the running, adding that the decision was unanimous.
