The company Ringier from Zurich has terminated its cooperation with Ivan Ivanović, whose shows will no longer be broadcast on Blic Television. Ivanovic says that he has never been freer – precisely in, as he says, the most unfree time

Zurich-based company Ringier and television author Ivan Ivanovic will not cooperate in the future, so the shows “Evening with Ivan Ivanović” and “Four and a Half Men”, which he is the author and host of, will not be broadcast on Blic television from the fall program season, the company announced.

Media house Ringier and Blic Television “assume the responsible fulfillment of all contractual obligations towards the author, with gratitude for the previous contribution and cooperation”.

Ivanovic: Ringier unilaterally terminated the contract

Ivanovic announced on social networks that “Ringier Serbia DOO exercised its right and unilaterally terminated the contract” with him.

I am informing you that the broadcast of the shows “Evening with Ivan Ivanovic” and “Four and a Half Men with Ivan Ivanovic” on Blic Television is being discontinued, Ivanovic stated on the X social network.

“Ringier Srbija DOO exercised its right and simply terminated the contract, because the show’s contribution did not meet expectations, but it threatened the reputation of the company’s image in connection with the public appearances of persons identified with the show,” Ivanović wrote

“Given that I am not ‘allowed’ either in free or non-free media, from public appearances in the last year I have my X account, nine forums with students and a speech in Novi Sad, as well as the rest of the team. Therefore, I assume that it is my X account. I want to emphasize that I have never been more free in my career than in this last season on Blic TV,” Ivanović wrote.

If this was a swan song, I am glad that it was the freest in the most unfree time, Ivanovic added.

“I owe a special thanks to you, who followed us and made it possible for us to be the most watched show on the television we broadcast on. Your support always gives meaning to everything we do. We’ll see what the future brings us,” Ivanović wrote on X.

Speaks at protests

Ivan Ivanović was one of the speakers during the blockade of three bridges in Novi Sad on the first day of February this year.

After an avalanche of comments and spins, Ivanovic declared that he would no longer speak at the protests.

“I have decided that in the future I will not speak at blockades or rallies. I recommend to students that if they want speakers, they should be students and professors. I think that we should support students in our programs, shows, interviews, on stands and with our presence. Let’s not give the authorities the opportunity for such spins,” Ivan Ivanović wrote.

Ivanovic has spoken before Serbia’s protest against violence in 2023.

He moved from TV Nova S to Blic TV in 2024.
