N1 reporter Mladen Savatovic was offered money to join the people at the tent camp in front of the Serbian Presidency building by a woman claiming to be coordinator for the regime supporters.

Savatovic was told by a woman who introduced herself as Milena that he could join the alleged students in the camp and get paid for it. A recording of their phone conversations includes Milena saying that he could join the student group because he is a young man. “These students are paid, they sit around and have a tent but they don’t want to say how much they’re getting paid,” she told him in their initial phone conversation before she had to cut Savatovic off to take another call.

Savatovic was then told that he doesn’t have a recommendation from anyone trustworthy but is offered an alternative to join the group of older people. Milena told him that they don’t want anyone who can be compromised as a reality show participant was.

Savatovic met with Milena on the street near the St Sava Temple. He was equipped with a hidden microphone and his cameraman was recording from across the street. He was told that he could be paid 7,500 Dinars (1 Euro – 117 Dinars) which is lower than he was initially told.

Savatovic asked about possible incidents and Milena said there would be none, that the whole thing was to launder money allegedly by the state.

When Savatovic revealed that he is an N1 reporter, Milena refused to answer any more questions and walked away.
