N1 Program Director Igor Bozic said it is not true that Orion Telekom had to drop N1’s programming because another operator holds exclusive broadcasting rights.
Bozic told the Association of Serbian Journalists that there is no rational explanation for removing N1 and added that he is “convinced” it is a form of political pressure.
“We have a valid contract with Orion Telekom until March 25, 2026, and that contract remains in effect regardless of the fact that the SBB, owned by Yettel, has exclusive rights to broadcast the N1 channel,” Bozic told the Association of Serbian Journalists.
The association said they asked Orion Telekom owner Slobodan Djinovic why N1 was being dropped when the contract runs until March next year, but received no response.
Orion Telekom notified customers that N1 would no longer be part of their lineup starting Wednesday, giving just half an hour’s notice before pulling the channel.
