N1 TV journalist Tamara Stojanovic won second place for her report “No One to Hear the Plea: Parents Have Been Asking for a Law on Caregivers for 10 Years” as part of an award recognizing efforts to fight discrimination and promote equality and tolerance.

The award is part of the Annual Media Awards for the best media pieces on topics related to the fight against discrimination and the promotion of equality and tolerance.

Now in its 9th year, the competition is organized by the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality with the support of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, marking November 16 – the International Day for Tolerance.

The competition aims to promote media coverage of values such as equality, tolerance, the fight against prejudice and stereotypes toward minority, marginalized, and vulnerable groups, as well as to raise the visibility of the institution of the Commissioner.

Awards are given in three categories, and the expert jury includes past winners of the first prize in all three categories, as well as representatives from the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality and the Media Department of the OSCE Mission to Serbia.

The award ceremony was attended by the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Jankovic, head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia Jan Braathu, and European Union (EU) Ambassador to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret.
