Orion shut down N1 and last users

Orion telecom users lost N1 again. Is this a permanent disconnection and does it have anything to do with the fact that the subscribers of this company were taken over by the company that is to be bought by Telekom – just a week ago

In the last few months, some users Orion Telecom they say, they found themselves in a crazy situation. At the beginning of June, this operator discontinued N1 from its offer, despite the fact that their contract is valid until the end of March 2026, and users were informed about this half an hour before the disconnection.

However, after countless calls from dissatisfied users, the channel was returned to some, only to disappear again seven months later, on Tuesday, December 9. Others haven’t had it since the summer.

“My friend and I have both Orion Telecom“, a Belgrade woman told “Vreme”. “I lost my N1 last summer. It first appeared on channel 999, but only with a frozen picture and no possibility to click on the channel. I haven’t had it since. My friend returned it and she had it – until December 9.”

A citizen who had an N1 until winter says she called customer relations Orion Telecom and that they told her that “only the oldest users have returned this channel”. She, on the other hand, claims that this is not true either, because she knows people who have been on this cable network since the very beginning, and N1 was not working for them either.

When asked by Vremena, did they exclude N1 from their offer, from Orion Telecom they did not respond until the conclusion of this text.

Sale, then exclusion

However, on November 5, information appeared in the media that Telekom Srbija was also taking over subscribers Orion Telecom. Behind a seemingly small “reorganizational change” within the three sister companies that bear the name in their name Orion Telecom something much bigger is hidden – the sale to Telekom Srbije, they write between. So it turned out that the announced sale of the company will Orion Telecom wifi state Telekom to include contracts with households – users of Orion cable television, internet and fixed telephony, which will be made possible precisely through the now announced reorganization.

This reorganization took effect only seven days ago.

By announcement, published on the website on the last day of October, Orion Telecom has informed its users that they will pay the bills to the company in the future Orion Telecom wifi – exactly the one for which it is Telekom Serbia requested a takeover permit back in July (albeit from the Macedonian Commission for the Protection of Competition, which is the only one in the region to immediately inform the public about submitted requests).

For users, as it is pointed out – there is no change in the terms of the contract.

“For you, as users, the conditions of use, price, scope and quality of the service do not change. All services continue without interruption, under the same technical and commercial conditions, without the need to sign a new contract,” the announcement stated.

They did not mention N1 in the announcement.

Serious effort not to watch N1

The operator Orion telecom on the night of June 3, half an hour before midnight, informed its users that it is changing the program scheme, i.e. canceling the broadcast of the channel N1.

“In the new circumstances, we consider it correct and professional to inform users in a timely manner and apply the change in the program scheme, not wanting to create unfounded expectations or mislead users on this issue, who have been trusting us for years,” stated Orion’s statement.

The cancellation of N1 on Orion Telecom took place only a month and a half this summer after N1 and Nova S were removed from Total TV, and after it was bought by Telekom Srbija. These two televisions got new positions on Total TV a few weeks earlier.

The Total TV network was included in the package of everything that the United Media company sold in mid-February. The sale of SBB to the e&PFF consortium was completed at the beginning of April, and Total TV was sold to Telekom Srbije, which canceled channels N1 and Nova S for users on the same day after taking over Total TV.
