The OSCE expressed concern over the threats made over the past few weeks against N1 TV journalists.
“The OSCE Mission to Serbia and the OSCE REpresentative on Freedom of the Media are deeply concerned by the recent death threats against TV N1 journalists,” a statement said.
“This is only one of many incidents in recent weeks and months targeting journalists and media outlets in Serbia. All cases should be investigated and the perpetrators brought to justice. Differences of opinion must never be used to justify threats, harassment or violence,” said the statement published on the OSCE mission’s X profile.
It welcomed what it said was “the swift response by the Serbian police and prosecution to investigate these threats in keeping with Serbia’s commitment from the 2018 OSCE Ministerial Council decision on the Safety of Journalists”.
