Radio Belgrade arts and culture program staff lent their support to the protesting university students on Wednesday.
Staff at the state radio’s 2nd and 3rd channels arts and culture programs released a statement supporting the students “in their democratic efforts to have Serbian institutions deal with issues within their competencies and demands to respect the laws and constitution”.
“This generation of young people is bringing us back to the values of justice, freedom and responsibility in their violence-free struggle. It’s up to us to hear their lecture on political culture,” the statement said.
Radio Belgrade’s culture and arts programs were known to be havens for dissidents during the Milosevic regime.
