A reporter for the Informer regime TV tried to ambush European Parliament Rapporteur for Serbia Tonino Picula who was looking at an exhibition of photographs in the lobby of the Serbian parliament.

The Informer reporter accused Croatian MEP Picula of refusing to walk through the lobby to avoid the exhibition about the WW 2 Jasenovac death camp for Serbs, Jews and Roma in what was the Fascist Independent State of Croatia. Jasenovac is used by Serb nationalists as an example of Serb suffering and to accuse Croats.

Picula responded saying that is not true. “This exhibition is her with a purpose and reason. We from the European Parliament, from the European Union, which is based on anti-fascism since without the victory over Nazism there would be no EU. We have not problem viewing the exhibition and perhaps expand the views of those who didn’t know. So any talk of us requesting a different route in is absolutely not right,” Picula said.

A day earlier, media reports said that the delegation of MEPs asked to be taken into parliament avoiding the main entrance to bypass media crews and reporters. Picula has been under attack by the Serbian authorities and regime media for his outspoken criticism.
