Objectives:
The general goal of the project is to contribute to the implementation of the Media Strategy and the accompanying Action Plan in accordance with EU standards, by strengthening overall capacities and influencing the situation.
Specific objectives:
1: To strengthen the representative potential and influence of the Media Consortium in order to promote media reforms;
2: Increase the internal capacity of the media to adhere to the ethical standards of the profession.
Target groups:
Media consortium members (at least 100 media);
Civil servants from the field of media – decision-makers and implementers (at least 20 at the national and local level);
Expert opinions, CSOs (at least 10);
International actors dealing with issues of media freedom in the country – from the EU Delegation and/or other similar organizations based in Belgrade (at least 10).
End users: Citizens of Serbia
Expected results:
Research examining the views of media professionals on Media Strategy;
Four regional round tables;
Developed five models of internal guidelines;
Twenty media trained in the preparation and adoption of internal documents that increase ethical standards in the workplace and in reporting;
Two shadow reports on the implementation of the current media strategy and action plan with recommendations;
Proposed amendments to: the Law on Public Media Services and the Law on Electronic Media;
Three media conferences where the shadow regulation proposed by the Media Coalition was presented;
Produced and distributed media coverage – three video documentaries, 3 audio features, 3 texts, social media coverage, reaching an audience of more than 100 media outlets
