A protest march to the Serbian state TV (RTS) offices in Serbia’s southern city of Nis, scheduled for Friday, was called off for safety reasons, said N1’s reporter.
Students who insisted on anonymity told N1 that the police had kindly asked them to forgo their Friday march.
The students explained that they complied out of respect, because the police have been managing traffic and providing security for them at all protests and gatherings.
However, police permitted a group of students to go to the RTS building and put up “Pump it up” posters – a slogan that has become the student protests’ rallying cry.
A major protest rally is scheduled for March 1 in Nis.
