Telekom Serbia is set to pay more than 2 billion Dinars in dividends to its shareholders which means the state treasury will receive 1.6 billion in tax-free funds.

The Telekom Serbia shareholders’ assembly approved the payment of 2.24 billion Dinars (1 Euro – 117 Dinars) or 2.8 Dinars a share which comes to 2.38 Dinars after deducting taxes of 15 percent. One share each was given to all Serbian nationals who turned 18 on or after December 31 2007 and were on the electoral rolls – a total of 4,821,887 people – as well as to Telekom employees and former employees – 39,856 people. The decision to hand out the shares said Telekom Serbia shares would be traded at 2.27 Euro.

The state is Telekom Serbia’s majority shareholder and it owns 581,104,948 shares which means that it will get 1.63 billion Dinars tax-free.

The size of the dividends is smaller than in previous years when it went as high as 8.4 Dinars a share. The drop was expected because Telekom Serbia reported profits of 10 billion Dinars in 2024 which was a third of the profits reported in 2023 because of the recapitalization of subordinate companies and interest payments which totaled 24.49 billion Dinars compared to 15.3 billion a year earlier.
