Residents of a small village in southern Serbia set up a road block to protest attempts to shut down their local cable operator whose offer includes N1 and Nova S TV stations.
The Jugpress news agency said that villagers in Sisava outside the town of Vlasotince are refusing to allow a crew to shut down the Jala cable operator. Villagers told the agency that 10 police patrol cars and 5 vans have been deployed in the village all day.
The villagers said they and the resident of the neighboring village of Lomnica don’t want the state-owned Telekom’s MTS cable operator or Super Nova but want Jala which brings them N1 and Nova S.
They said they want to throw out Telekom and Super Nova for good.
