The photo of journalist and announcer Boris Miljević was displayed in the reception desk of Radio Belgrade as an instruction to security not to allow him to enter, the Association of Journalists of Serbia announced. Miljević claims that after five years of cooperation, he was left without engagement without a clear explanation
As he found out, he was at the reception desk of Radio Belgrade until the other day US, there was a photo of Boris Miljević, a journalist and announcer whose cooperation was terminated after he requested a meeting with the general director of RTS Minor Grčić. The photo was placed in a visible place, as an instruction to security not to allow him to enter the building, it was published on the website of the Association of Journalists of Serbia.
As stated in the text, this information was conveyed to Miljević by colleagues from RTS.
After years of cooperation I am now put in a situation to be humiliated
“When they saw my photo in the porter’s office, they asked what it was about, so that the security people would make a witty comment that I was beautiful, that’s why. After years of cooperation, I am now put in a situation where I am humiliated. However, I can almost see all this that happened as a compliment,” he said.
The photo of Miljević that was in the porter’s office was taken from the UNS website. By the way, it illustrated the news that Miljević was verbally informed at the beginning of February that RTS had terminated its five-year cooperation with him.
This notification, as Miljević told UNS at the time, came only 20 minutes after he wanted to schedule an interview with the new general director Manja Grčić in front of the office of RTS Deputy General Director Dejan Jovanović. By the way, Miljević himself previously applied for the position of general director of RTS, but his candidacy was rejected because he did not meet the requirements for it.
After the manager of the announcer Miroslav Vujičić verbally informed him about the termination of cooperation, there was a notification in the Viber group “Radio Belgrade Speakers” about the schedule change, and there was no Miljević on the new schedule.
Cooperation terminated without a clear explanation
Since the notification was not official, Miljević went to work on Saturday, February 14.
At first, he was allowed to enter the building, but soon, as he added at the time, the security guards asked him to leave.
After that, he sent an email to the executives, asking for an explanation, and then received a written notice that the cooperation would be terminated, also, he says, without a clear explanation.
This coming to work is stated in the contract termination notice as the reason for the termination of cooperation. There is no information about the desire to schedule an interview with Manja Grcic.
After that arrival at work, his pass to enter RTS was cancelled, that is, deactivated.
UNS asked the director of Radio Belgrade, Zoran Bojičić, via email and text message, why there was a photo of colleague Boris Miljević in the reception desk of Radio Belgrade, bearing in mind that Miljević’s accreditation was revoked. The answer has not been received yet.
